Guiyang Nursing Vocational College

Guiyang Nursing Vocational College is a provincial exemplary vocational college in health area with a long history, perfect functions, reasonable structure and advanced equipment. It aims to cultivate high-quality professionals in areas related to applied medicine. Guiyang Nursing Vocational College was founded on October 1st, 1939, then with the name Guizhou Provincial Medical Vocational School. In October 1st, its name was decided as Guiyang Health School. In January 2006, with the official approval of Guizhou provincial government, Guiyang Nursing Vocational College was set up. It started to enroll new college students from twelve provinces and autonomous regions in China from 2007.

Guiyang Nursing Vocational College, who covers an area of about 253,333 square meters and whose construction area is nearly 123,000 square meters, is located in No.2, west of shilin road in Guanshanhu district of Guiyang city. The practicing area inside of the college is 64,361 square meters. Guiyang Nursing Vocational College also has over 70 stable practice bases both in and outside of Guizhou province and its beautiful library comprises about 350,000 volumes, which can provide variable learning materials for both teachers and students.

Currently the faculty number of the college is 328 and 268 are full-time teachers。There are 6,719 full-time students enrolled in the college, of which 5070 are college students and 1649 are secondary vocational school students. The graduates not only work in Guizhou province and neighboring provinces, but also work in Hong Kong and Macao, even the overseas countries, like America, Singapore, the UK, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Indonesia.

The majors the college has set meet the social needs and currently it has set 17 majors in college degree, namely nursing, nursing(foreign nursing direction), nursing(rehabilitation nursing direction), nursing(community nursing direction), midwifery, midwifery(Family-planning direction), medical beauty technology, pharmacy, traditional Chinese pharmacology, pharmaceutical analytical techniques, medical laboratory technology, medical laboratory technology (Transfusion direction),public health administration, health examination and quarantine technology, medical dietetics, pharmaceutical marketing, and medical imaging technology. In 2015, it set a new major: nursing (senior nursing direction). In secondary vocational school degree, it has set four majors, namely nursing, pharmacy, countryside medicine and medical laboratory technology.
